General Physiotherapy:
Your initial physiotherapy assessment is a comprehensive one-on-one appointment with a Registered Physiotherapist. We will discuss your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, goals, and any factors that may be contributing to your concerns. Your physiotherapist will then complete a physical assessment which may include movement analysis, strength testing, mobility assessment, breathing assessment, balance testing, or other relevant measures depending on your condition. Together, you will create an individualized treatment plan to help you move and feel your best.
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy:
A pelvic floor physiotherapy assessment typically begins with a detailed conversation about your symptoms, medical history, bladder and bowel habits, pain, posture, and any relevant surgeries and/or pregnancies. Your physiotherapist will then explain the assessment process and obtain your consent before proceeding. The physical exam may include an external assessment of your posture, breathing, hips, and abdominal muscles, followed by an optional internal vaginal or rectal examination to evaluate pelvic floor muscle strength, coordination, and tension—this is always done only with your permission. Throughout the appointment, you should expect a respectful, private, and step-by-step approach, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions or pause at any time.
